Why Your Coffee Is Giving You Acid Reflux - A love story
Do you have a love hate relationship with your coffee?
It may be due to your using instant coffee or another low quality coffee. Instant coffee has a high level of acidity and can cause Acid Reflux. Once you add milk, cream and sugar, the acidity levels only rise.
The lower the grade coffee you use (tasters choice, folgers etc.) the higher your chances are to continue your hate love relationship with coffee.
So how do you create an eternal loving relationship with your coffee, where you can benefit from the caffeine and also enjoy your cup of Joe (without the Acid Reflux)?
Stick to high quality beans, that are grown at high altitudes (2-4,000 feet above sea level). Just like any loving relationship, it may take some time before you find the perfect bean and you may need to search the world over. Try beans from various countries, since the acidity varies from region to region.
Steps to get you started today
1) Buy a single origin coffee from Costa Rica ( you can try Single Origin Costa Rica La Pastora)
2) If you still experience Acid Reflux, you may want to try a different region, say Hawaii's Kona coffee
3) This should resolve your acidity, however if you continue to experience issues in your coffee relationship, you may want to try other regions, since everyone's experience is different.
Good luck on your exploration & cheers to finding that perfect cup!
