Sweet, balanced, and elegant, with notes of raw sugar, caramel, and brown sugar, accented by hints of herbal tea, spice, and pear butter. A touch of apple-like acidity adds refinement.
Full City roasts bring out bittersweet chocolate, roasted cacao nibs, and a hint of dark fruit, making this a versatile crowd-pleaser. Perfect for brewed coffee or as a single-origin espresso, where dense chocolate meets a spark of lemon and subtle dark fruit.
Pulcal is a historic coffee estate overlooking the colonial city of Antigua, Guatemala, perched at 6,000 feet in altitude. With roots dating back to colonial times, coffee was first planted in the late 1800s and exported in 1918.
The “Inteligente” block, planted with old Typica and Bourbon trees, sits at the highest point on the farm. Its unique micro-climate, sun exposure, and well-draining soils allow the coffee to ripen slightly later, developing rich complexity.
Processed at the nearby Bella Vista mill, the coffee undergoes a water-conserving washed process before being dried on raised beds in indoor drying rooms. This meticulous care highlights the exceptional quality and character of Pulcal coffee.
